Each month, Dressage Winnipeg will highlight one of our members.
Our Rider Spotlight for August is FEI U25 Grand Prix rider, Brooke Mancusi. Brooke is a born and raised Winnipeg girl, spending her summers in Quebec with her coach, Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu. Brooke started riding at the age of 8 at Meadow Green Stables and has never looked back. This August she will be representing Canada in the U25 Division at the North American Youth Championships in Michigan with Arthur. This is the second National Team for Brooke and Arthur in 2023, as they competed at the CDIO-U25 Nations Cup in Wellington in February and received the team bronze medal as well as being third individually. Brooke is no stranger to NAYC, she was named to Team Canada as a Young Rider (due to the unexpected loss of her horse, she was unable to attend) and as a Junior representing Team Ontario/Manitoba, when she received a bronze medal. Brooke is currently long listed for the Pan Am Games this Fall in Chile and is continuing to show Kalisto Sollenburg, her 8-year-old gelding on that path in the Small Tour.
Brooke was fortunate to have great horse partners on this journey, and to show throughout North America; Del Mar, CA, Del Mar National, San Juan Capistrano, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Scottsdale, AZ, North Salem, NY, Wellington, FL, Ocala, FL, Ottawa, ON, Bromont, QC, Caledon, ON, Angelstone, ON and of course here in Manitoba. She has collected winning ribbons and Championships throughout her travels. Brooke has received the Manitoba Horse Council Junior Athlete of the Year, the Manitoba Horse Council Athlete of the Year, nominated as the Sport Manitoba Youth Athlete of the Year, CTV Sports Star Award, Women to Watch recipient as well as numerous Dressage Winnipeg year end awards. Brooke, under her business BM Dressage, has been a sponsor of Dressage Winnipeg and is a Bronze Sponsor again this year.
