Rider Spotlight - October 2024
Each month, Dressage Winnipeg will highlight one of our members.
Alice Cassidy
Alice is originally from Edmonton, and has loved horses her whole life. Now at 13 years old, she's been riding for about 10 years at various stables around Alberta and now here in Manitoba. Alice's first horse is named Lukas (Longines) and they've been riding together for the last 3.5 years. Lukas is a 9 year old British Block (mustang). He was born feral and brought up at Amberlea Meadows stables in Edmonton.
Alice loves Dressage and competed in First Level Tests 1,2, and 3 this summer, and won Gold Champion at her last show! Alice also competes in Hunter and Jumper classes as well as Cross Country/3 Day Eventing.
Alice also has another horse named Smokey (Percheron/Quarter Horse X) that she is training for both Dressage and Hunter/Jumper classes for next year.
Alice's favourite things to do is try new things with her horses, and is particularly fond of getting out into the fields and taking great pictures of her horses and the incredible prairie landscape.
