Each month, Dressage Winnipeg will highlight one of our members.
Mady Nicholls Mady’s first experience with horses occurred in a week-long summer day camp at Meadow Green Stables when she was nine. By the end of the fifth day, this little city girl was past her trepidation of such large animals and hooked on learning to ride. Mady has been riding regularly for six years and is currently riding at Solace Stables. Mady’s introduction to competition was in July 2022 at the Dressage Winnipeg’s competition at Bird’s Hill Park. She has competed in a number of shows since then, always with the goal of improving her riding and associated scores. Mady has been the recipient of the Captain de Kenyeres Rider Development scholarship in each of the previous two years. Mady’s love of horses and riding has only grown in the years since she first began. Her horsemanship, riding abilities, and friendships of both the human and animal varieties, have all combined to support her continued love and enjoyment of the sport and ongoing desire to improve and compete.
