Each month, Dressage Winnipeg will highlight one of our members.
Tara Levandoski is a fourth level dressage rider based out of Arden, Manitoba and is a member of DW. She is married to Joey (self-employed carpenter) and has 2 boys (Liam age 12 and Ethan age 18). Tara also holds a position as a Registered Nurse in Prairie Mountain Health. Tara has an amazing mom “Mae” who supports her dressage goals and accompanies her on the road at shows and lessons/clinics. Tara has been riding since she was little, but fell in love with Dressage at the age of 15 and has never looked back! Tara has been fortunate to participate in Masterclass events held in Manitoba over the years including Stephen Clarke and most recently Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu. Tara is appreciative of being able to participate in high quality clinics held in Manitoba as well, which recently include coaches Eiren Crawford and Natalie Hinnemann.
Tara’s current fourth level horse is her home-bred 17.3hh Oldenburg gelding Watson (by Wolkentanz II). Watson’s dam was Tara’s previous dressage partner ‘Shimmer’ (by Kadans). Tara personally delivered Watson and has enjoyed raising him and bringing him along in the dressage world over the years! The other members of the Levandoski herd are “Tango” a Paint gelding (Watson’s baby-sitter), “Toopy” the barn cat, and 2 German Shepherd’s- “Nola and Luther”. Tara in on the hunt for the next young dressage prospect to add to the herd. Tara is a proud Ambassador for Leveza Equestrian. Tara and Watson’s goals are to break into the FEI levels within the next couple of years. However, enjoying the horses and the sport of Dressage, plus continuing to learn and improve day-to-day is the focus.
